When the UNC Kenan-Flagler community comes together, anything is possible.
And during the 2014-15 academic year, our community came together in a big way. With your support, we raised a record $24 million in new cash and new commitments – including nearly $3 million in unrestricted giving – for the School during this period.
Among the many successes we celebrated this year were:
- A 54 percent increase in new cash and new commitments from 2013-14
- Record attendance at Reunion Weekend
- $566,157 raised as part of the Reunion giving campaign
- A 93 percent giving rate among full-time MBA students
- A record $2.95 million raised for The Fund for UNC Kenan-Flagler
Although many factors that contributed to these accomplishments, dedicated alumni donors were the key element to the School’s philanthropic success.
WHY WE GIVE
“I have been blessed by the generosity of others in my education and career. I believe in ‘paying it forward’ and amplifying my blessings multi-fold. I give to UNC and Kenan-Flagler as an expression of my gratitude for the many roles they have played and continue to play in my life’s successes.”
– Adele McLean (BSBA, MAC ’91)
“I spent two of the best years of my life at UNC Kenan-Flagler. I want the School to thrive in the future. I know that its success going forward will benefit current and future students and alumni alike. That’s why I enjoy giving to UNC Kenan-Flagler.”
– Joachim von Klitzing (MBA ’01)
HOW YOU CAN HELP
Make a gift – of any size – to The Fund for UNC Kenan-Flagler.
The Fund provides an opportunity for your donation to make an immediate impact. Gifts to The Fund are unrestricted, meaning these donations go directly toward supporting the students, faculty and programs that make UNC Kenan-Flagler and are applied to the areas of greatest need at the School – such as increased scholarship and fellowship support.
The need for philanthropic support has never been greater.
We were very pleased to see an increase in both dollars raised and alumni donors from last year, but there is still plenty of work to be done. State money for UNC Kenan-Flagler has dropped 45% since the Great Recession, and we rely on alumni from all class years and degree programs to step up and give back.
–Adam Gerdts (BA ’00, EMBA ’14), associate dean of advancement
