UNC Student Body President and Morehead-Cain Scholar Bradley Opere (BSBA ’17) has an important message for his fellow students: Dare to be different.

Rather than chasing after the cliché college experience, Opere encourages students to follow and embrace their own unique path. Whether choosing a major or getting involved in activities on campus, “If you’re doing it, ensure that it’s within your path and your passions – not because everyone you know is going to do that particular thing,” he says.

It’s a mantra that has served Opere well throughout his life – from growing up in Kenya to attending secondary school at South Africa’s prestigious African Leadership Academy (ALA) to pursuing his dreams at UNC Kenan-Flagler.

Opere shares his journey, vision and goals for his tenure as Student Body President on UNC’s podcast, Well Said.
