The MBA Real Estate Club recently visited Washington, D.C. for the first career trek of 2014-2015 academic year. With the support of the MBA Real Estate Club and the Wood Center, the alumni networking reception was held at The Gryphon in Dupont Circle. We had a great turnout, and we look forward to seeing many more of you during our next visit in Feb. 2015.
Over the two-day trip, we toured seven projects throughout the District and Maryland. We explored projects in various stages of completion, with tours given by seven different companies including: mFlats by Kettler, Pike & Rose by Federal Realty Investment Trust, Bethesda Crossing by MRP Realty, 4500 East West Highway by Carr Properties, 915F and Square 450 Developments by Douglas Development, and Jefferson Marketplace by Jefferson Apartment Group.
The DC market is full of excitement and energy. We were fortunate to tour model units, amenity spaces and roof top patios. At each stop, our tour guides brought the projects to life and shared market data, challenges and anecdotes.
Overall, the group learned a great deal and are grateful to each company host. Club members are so thankful for the opportunities to speak individually and to seek invaluable advice. The trek was a huge success, and we couldn’t do it without the help and dedication of so many of our alumni.
Over the next two months, we will be visiting Charlotte and New York City. As we tour these cities and learn about their unique qualities, we know that the commitment of our alumni will remain the same. We appreciate their support and our UNC network of club, faculty and the Wood Center.
