Have a full plate? Welcome to the life of the average college student! In three months, I packed in two mini-vacations, a five-day Indian wedding celebration, a summer study abroad program in France (can you say parlez-vous anglais, because that’s about all I can!), studied and sat for the Medical College Admission Test, and completed the online Business Essentials certificate program through UNC Kenan-Flagler.
Frequently, conversations with my peers revolve around how busy we all are. The trademark of a student is to chase every opportunity surrounding our interests in an effort to gain the tools and experiences needed to succeed after graduation. A very important foundation that could benefit a student going into almost any field is basic business, economics and finance knowledge. Coming to UNC, I wanted to pursue the majors, classes and areas that I loved without having to sacrifice all of that to become a more marketable graduate. Being able to take the UBE course online in my own time allowed me to fit it into my lifestyle. Whether I was in France, on the beach or just home relaxing with my family, the entire period was open for me to complete the courses at my leisure.
The program allowed me to start courses whenever I had the time. I was able to access the courses 24/7 anywhere I had internet, which was definitely a winner for me in France. As a person who did not want to pause my life in order to gain the knowledge from this course, the flexibility of the program was ideal for me.
